This event has been running since 2013, when it was initiated by Plaas Media under the banner of its magazines, Veeplaas Tydskrif and Stockfarm Magazine.

Our Royal competitors have flown the KZN flag high in recent years, with Tom Hodgson the national winner in 2022, and Fiso Hadebe the national winner in 2024, as well as runner-up in both 2022 and 2023!
