ROYAL
CARCASS
COMPETITION
& AUCTION
Important!
As it will not be possible to hold commercial livestock competitions at the 2025 Royal Agricultural Show, the Royal Carcass Competition and Auction will also not be held.
As the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) finalises its relocation from its premises of 122 years and we get our new home ready for you, a different Royal Agricultural Show is planned for 2025.
Unfortunately during this time, cattle, sheep and goats will not be able to have a presence. Accordingly, it will not be possible to hold the Royal Carcass Competition and Auction.
A “Royal Roadshow” is planned, as a way to consult with commercial livestock farmers to strengthen the RAS’s ties with them ahead of our 175th anniversary in 2026.
Informed by this consultation process, the commercial livestock competitions will be able to return in full force in 2026 for our special 175th anniversary show, stronger than ever.
The Royal Carcass Competition culminates in the Royal Carcass Auction at each year’s Royal Show.
It is a splendid occasion for buyers, butchers and restaurants to compete for lamb, beef and pork, judged to be the best in the country.
It is also an opportunity for winning breeders and bidders to capitalise on the exposure and publicity this brings to their establishments.
There will be no Carcass Competition at the 2025 Royal Show, as we will not be holding any livestock events (as explained here).
The Royal Carcass Competition and Auction will return in 2026.
